Eastern Europe Trip (Hungary, Ukraine and Romania) - April 25 - May 8, 2012

Traveling to the heart of the Eastern Europe provides wonderful opportunities to pray for churches struggling against years of atheistic communist teaching. This trip will start in Budapest and travel through to Ukraine and Romania, visiting Christian missionaries, schools and churches and returning to Budapest for departure. The trip will be twelve days, including our travel days.

  • Dates: April 25 - May 8, 2012
  • Hosts: Lois Craven, former missionary to Hungary will accompanying the team through out our travels; George deVuyst will be our host in Ukraine; Steve Michmerhuizen will be our host in Romania; Frank Sawyer will be our host in Sarospatak.
  • Costs: $1225 per person, plus transportation from your departure city. 
  • Deadline for application: March 19. 2012
  • We presently have eight confirmed participants. We are open to more.

The itinerary for the trip has been set and is as follows:

Wednesday, April 25, we will leave the states and arrive in Budapest.
Thursday we will spend much of the day orienting ourselves to the Eastern Europe situation through the Terror Museum. We will spend Thursday night in Budapest.
Friday, April 27, We will be meeting with our partner teachers and praying for their strength and their ministries.
Saturday, April 28, We will be traveling all day to Ukraine. Saturday night we will stay in Ukraine.
Sunday, April 29, We will worship with George and his church and spend the afternoon praying for ministries as George arranges.
Monday, April 30, We will be in Ukraine in the morning and travel to Sarospatak in the afternoon. We will be staying in Spatak in the evening.
Tuesday, May 1,
May Day celebration, stay in Sarospatak.
Wednesday, May 2,
with Frank Sawyer and praying with his ministry friends as he arranges. Wednesday evening we will stay in Sarospatak.

Thursday, May 3, a travel day to Romania. We will stay in Romania.

Friday This day will be dedicated to prayer for Steve's partners and his ministry and community. We will spend the night in Romania.
Saturday, May 5, will be a full travel day back to Hungary and Budapest. We will stay in Budapest Saturday night.
Sunday We will worship in Budapest Sunday morning, have free time Sunday afternoon; a nice closing meal together and a debriefing on Sunday evening. We will spend Sunday night in Budapest.
Monday The plane leaves Budapest early Monday morning and we arrive back in the states on Monday evening.
