(Planned Prayer Mission Trips Below!)

General Information:

Short term mission trips which focus primarily on the ministry of prayer is the primary focus of Prayer Missions International. While many short term mission trips focus upon construction, medical needs or Biblical instructions, these trips will focus primarily upon the ministry of prayer. Teams consisting of 5-10 men and women will spend their ministry time focusing upon the ministry needs of the missionaries, pastors, diaconal workers and other ministry personnel. Additionally part of the prayer ministry time will be interceding before God for the community in which the ministry is located. We will pray for the government, the economy, the education, the medical and social needs of the community. To better understand how this ministry team will work, please refer to a sample itinerary located under Itinerary. Also refer to the information letter located under Volunteer Application on this web site.

Two comments from the Nehemiah Center staff, Nicaragua Prayer Trip - October 2010:

  • "A couple years ago we explored how we can design a North American group that would be geared to recruiting the leadership from our supporting churches. Nothing really materialized until Prayer Ministries International contacted us last spring. With little work on our part, a team organized by Prayer Missions International that included Jon DeBruyn and six church leaders from our supporting churches (Vanderwees, Holtrop and Huyser). The team spent a week meeting our families, learning about Nicaragua and the CRC work. They had a chance to pray for Nicaragua, our families, our partner staff and several communities they were able to visit. They also led a morning workshop on Lecto Divino for the Nehemiah center quarterly retreat.     -   As a country team we were really impressed with this group. They were incredible encouragers and left us feeling strengthened and protected. We did a bit of follow-up work and this sentiment was echoed by everyone that they interacted with. Prayer seemed to overcome a number of cultural and language barriers.   In our busyness, we often forget to bathe our work in prayer. We would welcome PMI back on a regular basis."  For the country team, Mark Vanderwees -CRWRC Nicaragua
  • "Let me just say I would really second this. I think this was one of the most rewarding teams we have had - - both for us and the national leaders we work with. Prayer seemed to break down the us/them barriers in ways that other sorts of teams have been unable to do. The national leaders really appreciated this team and the way they took time to listen to them and prayer with them." - Joel Huyser, Director of the Nehemiah Center
