Our Vision

Prayer Missions International exists to build and strengthen the ministry of prayer among Christian people in order that the Kingdom of God may be supported and strengthened in our world.

It does this through teaching people the Biblical basis of prayer ministry, through training people in the fundamentals of the ministry of prayer, through holding prayer mission trips around the world to pray for mission fields, missionaries, pastors, churches, towns, cities and strategic locations.

Our Ministries

Prayer Mission Trips – Our primary ministry is developing and coordinating short term prayer mission trips to various mission situations throughout the world. The primary activity of these mission trips is prayer for the missionaries and ministers, the various ministries carried on in a particular area and generally prayer for God’s blessing and movement in the community as a whole.

These mission teams will consist of 4-10 people recruited through supporting churches and agencies. The trips will last from 7-14 days depending upon the location and the ministry needs and opportunities.

A more complete description of the activities can be found under the itinerary section of the Trips tab.

The dates and locations of the trips are also found under the Trips tab.

It is the desire and hope of Prayer Missions International to strengthen and spiritually encourage and refresh our missionaries and Christian workers in various mission settings. As we call upon our God with strong, faith-filled and courageous prayer, our belief is that he will move and act to bless and encourage, to open doors and strengthen ministry through our intercessions. Not only do we believe our prayer teams will change and effect things on the mission field, we believe they will change things back in their home communities through ongoing prayer and support for the ministries and missionaries they know in new and intimate ways.

Praying With Power – Praying With Power is the educational aspect of Prayer Missions International. Our Executive Director, Rev. Jon DeBruyn, is able to lead seminars, adult education classes and retreats, as well as preaching messages, focused upon the ministry of prayer.

The following are retreats/seminars/educational topics that can be arranged:

  • Learning to Love to Pray Seminar – This six hour seminar was developed by Dr. Alvin VanderGriend and Rev. DeBruyn is a trained national presenter of this material.
  • Rediscovering Spiritual Disciplines – This six hour seminar focuses upon the spiritual disciplines of the Christian faith such as solitude and silence, prayer and fasting, discernment and spiritual reading.
  • Power and Passion in prayer
  • Developing a Healing Ministry in Your Church
  • Releasing Spiritual Gifts in our Churches and Lives
  • Growing in Spiritual Authority
  • The Person and Work of the Holy Spirit
  • Developing a Dynamic Ministry of Prayer
  • Listening to God
  • Goal Setting and Expanding the Kingdom of God.

The Center for Strategic Prayer –This ministry, still on the drawing board, will bring together men and women who have worked and written in the area of prayer ministry. The purpose will be to explore different aspects of the prayer ministry and how we as a larger Christian community can broaden and strengthen the ministry of prayer in our nation and world.

The concept is that these individual will gather for several days to present papers and discuss the ministry of prayer with the hope of developing publishable materials which will impact our world.
